The evolution of the territorial system towards greater spatial complexity and at the same time, the need to face in an integrated manner the challenges of economic, social and environmental sustainability, and the growing interrelationship between the powers that govern the planning, involves the research for new knowledge, methodologies and technologies. Within agencies whose activities have a territorial relevance, there are, or tend to be in place, new processes required to manage increasingly complex phenomena, such as all those directly attributable to the environment or coordinated management of territory, which seems to no longer practice the traditional approach offered by the current market for services and products based on geography.
